While reading about various presidents and things like that.... Ford vs Regan are discussed... and the fact Ford for the most part had a quiet presidency. Then we turn to President Grant.... and the following occurs.

Me: "Grant isn't really remembered for much."
Sierra: "Grant is remembered for the war, not for his pregnancy..... presidency...."

and the second...
The Master and Jadis of Charn - travellers together.

Worried yet?

Sierra, Rew and I just finished playing Battlestar Galactica: Boardgame. It looked simple enough at first - Humans must survive, Cylons will kill you... and there might be a traitor amongst you. And so we faff around a bit, laughing.

And then we realised we were gatting ganked rapidly. And all of a sudden the suspence shot up and we were frantically working together as bets as we could - there's this nasty rule of secrecy. you can hint at your hand... or just outright lie. And sooner or later, the Cylon sleeper agent will awaken and start working to screw you and the others over.

We never got to that point - losing out to the Basestars and Cylon raiders. Nasty nasty.

BUT DAMN WAS IT FUN! Sierra had the old man, I had his son and Rew had the Scotty clone.

And it was a rapid learning curve indeed..... and oh so very fun :)

The feel rapidly took on elements from a certain 1920's horror board game that we also got as a wedding present from 4 wonderful people ;)

There will be a next time ;)

Boys of the USA of Generation X!
Ever wondered what movie the girls were shown when you were kicked out of the classroom?

Everyone else outside the USA
Curious as to how the US government educated young women about becoming an adult?

Girls of the USA from Generation X
Remember this?

*grins*

Our class was a combined one - the Girls learned what the Boys learned and the Boys learned what the Girls learned. And there was Q&A as well. The class was an after school one and went for 2-3 hours.

Pretty good as well - got rid of a lot of awkward questions as well!

Same books, different country.

Any guesses why the US version has a minimum of 50 pages more than the UK version, and is more often 80+ pages more than the UK version?

Illustrations might add a few pages... but that many? Come on folks - something is wrong here.

And so the saga continues. Turns out that there has been a hiccough with some documents... and I'm working to get that sorted out. I'm confident that it can all be resolved however :)

Uniisgoing well... There are three assignments that will be starting soon and I'm feeling confident.I've got 2 classes back to back. One encourages you to remove all precepts and listening mentalities of the 20th/21st centuries... then I go and study the musics of Post World War II
