Week of changes
Sep. 20th, 2008 01:09 pmWell, the week started great! All forms have been approved which means that soon the US Consulate in NZ will be informed of said approvals!
Then the DSL was cut off. Despite the bill being settled, there was still a cut off order that couldn't be altered until Friday. Mutter
Then a family member falls ill. Grumble.
I lose the details for the Roller Derby on Saturday. Sulk

janetlin took me to Outback Steakhouse which was very nice!
We have internet back - turns out that it was possibly re-connected earlier, but just set to Dialup. Huge thanks to the bloke last night to got itall sorted calmly and cheerfully....
and most importantly, I'm getting married in less than 4 months.
So if I can just get my sleeping sorted out, I'll be a happy camper.

Sacramento is hot. I mean hot hot. Like 30 deg + hot. Bleh.
Flight here was good, could have been better with sleep, but the sleep kicking of a little girl kinda precluded sleep :D That said, Morgan travels very well.
Otherwise, I'm just getting some good RP in, planning the details for the wedding, looking at study here and in general, chilling out.

Well, it's been an interesting week. Personal events, relationship growth and family dealings, all in the space of a few days. And not small ones either.
Anyhoo - I'm in Havelock North at present, in preperation for a surprise 80th Birthday for my Great aunt and godmother. Her birthday is valentines day (which I find amusing) but the entire clan is getting together to celebrate tomorrow. And she has no clue as to what is coming.

Had a good drive down from Auckland with Grandad and managed to sort out a few personal details on the way. Nothing major, just things like what sort of games should I keep when I resume my studies :)

janetlin, but it's so much more fun to play with others and that is what I've been missing for quite a while.
Swordfighting has been held for a bit - body aches and lack of sleep from late nights are the key reasons there.
The weather is good, I'm enjoing life and things are settling down smoothly.
Just one last things left to do - find a job.

Jan. 31st, 2008 10:28 amFor those of you who watch my journal, you'll have noticed a flood of entries popping up following long silences. The silences were either can't be ar*ed's or no net.
Now it's net and a lot of open space on nice hot sunny days.... where one can burn in 10 min flat if one is not careful. And even care is no guarantee one will be safe. In short, I'm now doing things and I am being botherd to write what it is that I'm doing.

Oct. 14th, 2007 02:07 pmAnd the countdown continues. It's 7 weeks until I ensure my room is clear and I start waiting for the final hours to pass before I go to the airport.
A chapter is closing in my life and it doesn't hurt. Which I find to be nice. I've had enough of painful or scared closures. Now, it's nerves that are present yes but also a lot of excitement...

Secondly and more importantly... what is it was all the actor lookalikes in Edinburgh? I've seen a Christian Bale lookalike, a splitting image of Sean Bean and now Hugh Lawrie. Not to mention a perfect resemblance of Judie Dench and Sean Connery. And no folks, they were not the real thing. Heck, even Madam Zeta Jones has a doppleganger who has passed through Cruz!
